Slobot goes to Key West!

A strolling Slobot had crossed a big bridge and, in doing so, inadvertently passed from South Carolina into Georgia! Specifically, Slobot stood on a pillar along the Savannah River in Savannah, Georgia!

Savannah, the first capital city of Georgia, is - today - a well known tourist attraction and home to Paula Deen's Lady & Sons restaurant.

In seeking Spartanburg Slobot left Savannah. Slobot, however, wandered the wrong way and was not near Spartanburg, South Carolina...

but, rather, on the campus of Florida State University...

in Tallahassee, Florida!

Slobot loves Tallahassee, Florida, but he is terrified of something that happened at the Chi Omega House in the early morning hours of January 15, 1978. In those few hours, under the cover of darkness, the wanted serial killer Theodore Robert "Ted" Bundy would bludgeon and strangle sleeping sorority sisters Lisa Levy and Margaret Bowman in their room in the Chi Omega House. Also injured in Bundy's frenzied attack were sorority sisters Karen Chandler and Kathy Kleiner.

Before leaving Tallahassee Bundy would break into the home of another FSU coed, one Cheryl Thomas. She would survive her attack. Bundy would flee Tallahassee in a stolen FSU van, a van he would use in the abduction and murder of his final victim, 12-year-old Kimberly Leach.

Bundy would eventually be apprehended and - after securing a change of venue - be put on trial for the Chi Omega House murders in Miami.

That trial would result in a death sentence. Bundy would then earn another death sentence for the murder of Kimberly Leach in a separate trial in Orlando.

It would be for the murder of Leach that Bundy would - on January 24, 1989 - be strapped into "Old Sparky," the Florida State Prison electric chair in Starke, Florida; and electrocuted.

Slobot was thankful to be in beautiful Miami and doubly thankful that Bundy was dead!

Slobot eventually hitched a ride out of Miami on US 1, hoping that it would take him to Columbia, SC. Slobot, however, managed to go the wrong way and soon found himself at US 1's Mile 0 in Key West, Florida!

In Key West Slobot found a fascinating feline.

An animal with an anatomical abnormality...

a cat with not a paw, but a fist!

It was a polydactyl cat!

Slobot loved Key West, Florida!

Slobot would like to thank Florida State University, Chi Omega (ΧΩ), the cities of Key West, Miami, Savannah and Tallahassee, the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum and YOU!
